Radio Frequency (RF) - Cellulite and Fat Reduction
Body Shaping Therapy:
- Non-Invasive
- Non- ablative
- No downtime
The body shaping device is a radiofrequency device that is used for several indications including: Cellulite, Fat reduction, Skin tightening, Post-liposuction, and Lipomas.
Benefits:
- Skin tightening & skin rejuvenation
- Improvement in scar appearance
- Long lasting results in just a few quick treatments
- No pain or discomfort
- Easy and cost-effective procedure
RF treatments can create dramatic change without the need for invasive surgery or even topical anesthetics. An added benefit is that this is a no downtime therapy. Both RF and IR energies are delivered to tissue with continuous contact cooling, which provides additional patient comfort and epidermal protection.
How it works
The macine is designed to uniformly heat the dermis with radiofrequency energy (RF) while protecting the epidermis with built-in contact cooling. The increased temperature in the dermis causes collagen contraction, realignment and new collagen production which continues to build over several months.
Unlike lasers, which work through absorption of light in specific chromophores (Selective Photothermolysis), RF generates heat using the target tissue’s natural resistance to the movement of electrons (“impedance”) and rotation of water molecules within the RF field that creates the heat.
Similar to laser energy, the thermal effect of RF energy in tissues is determined by:
Level of energy
Duration of the treatment
Nature of the tissues (impedance)
Electrode type (Uni, Mono, Bipolar)
Hand piece size and shape.
When applied to tissue, rapidly oscillating electromagnetic fields cause movement of charged particles within the tissue, and the resultant molecular motion generates heat.
RF frequency is more efficient in tissue between 30MHz and 300MHz
Higher the Frequency, higher the effect on water molecule (rotation of water molecule in the RF field)
RF ( Radiofrequency ) technology may facilitate and enhance the breakup of adipose tissue, helping to mobilize and eliminate fat deposits – non-invasively.
This treatment should not be done on persons who have any of the following conditions: cancer, autoimmune disease/collagen disease, pacemaker or other implanted electrical device, pregnancy, filler injections in the area of treatment.
About Cellulite… Fat is stored in fat cells which lie between the skin and muscle underneath. The fat cells are grouped together into large collections which are separated by fibrous strands. These fibrous strands run between the muscle and the skin. As the fat cells expand with weight gain, the gap between muscle and skin expands but unfortunately the fibrous strands cannot stretch. This results in the dimpling characteristic of cellulite.
Cellulite is not a unique substance and it is no different from fat cells found in any other part of the body.
Fat cells have fat-storing and fat-releasing receptor sites.
Different parts of the body have fat cells with more fat storing sites or more fat-releasing sites.
